Every page of USVotersAbroad.org is served over an encrypted connection, so the information you enter is encrypted in transit between your device and our systems. We use strong, industry-standard security measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or misuse.

No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so we also limit what we collect to what the Federal Post Card Application actually requires.

The information you submit is used to prepare and submit your voter registration and ballot request materials, and to communicate with you about your registration — including deadline reminders you can unsubscribe from at any time.

Your completed FPCA goes to the local election official who runs elections for your U.S. voting address. That is the office legally responsible for processing your registration and sending your ballot.

Your registration information is shared with your local election official, as it must be for your FPCA to be processed.

Like any online service, we also rely on a limited number of vetted service providers and subprocessors that process personal information on our behalf and under contract — for example, to host the site, deliver email, and provide customer support. They may use your information only to perform those services for us, not for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, such as in response to a subpoena or other binding legal process. Our Privacy Policy describes each of these categories in full.

We do not share your information with political parties, candidates, or campaigns. The Center for U.S. Voters Abroad Turnout Project is nonpartisan: our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy commit us to serving all eligible United States citizens and military voters, and we do not endorse candidates or political parties.

The tool is free, and it does not solicit payment information at any point in the process.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have specific rights over your personal information, including rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. This includes careful compliance with privacy laws such as the European Union’s GDPR, which covers many of the voters we serve.

Separately from the registration information you submit, this website uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and for advertising that helps us reach overseas voters who do not yet know they can vote. Those are described in our Privacy Policy, and you can change your choices at any time.
