Overseas Voting Guides by State
Your ballot comes from the state where you last lived. Choose it below for its deadlines, accepted return methods, and the office that handles your ballot.
Your voting state
Not sure which state is yours?
For most overseas voters it is the state where you last lived before moving abroad, even if you no longer have an address or any property there. You do not need to have plans to return.
Whichever state that is, every eligible overseas voter can vote in federal elections. 2026 is a midterm year: all 435 U.S. House seats are on the ballot, along with about a third of the U.S. Senate. Election Day is November 3, 2026.
Born abroad and never lived in the United States? Check whether your parent’s state lets you register.
